Here to Help with Intimate Concerns.

You are not alone in pelvic health..

Urogynaecological conditions are common in women, especially after childbirth or the onset of perimenopause / menopause. Most of the problems can be managed and improved.

The most common conditions include urinary incontinence or frequent urgency, pelvic organ prolapse and recurrent urinary tract infections (UTIs). Treatments include programmes of pelvic floor exercises to strengthen muscles, vulvovaginal local/topical oestrogen applications, other medications, vaginal pessaries, and lifestyle and dietary modifications.

In rare, severe cases surgical interventions or botox for the bladder may be needed. I can refer you accordingly. Most importantly, I will listen sympathetically to your concerns and help you build your confidence to find the approach that gives you the best possible outcomes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is urogynaecology?

Vulval discomfort refers to ongoing irritation, soreness, dryness, or pain in the external genital area. It can be caused by a range of factors and should never be ignored.

When should I see a Urogynaecologist?
If you’re experiencing bladder leakage, pelvic discomfort, a sense of heaviness, or repeated urinary infections, a specialist assessment can help.
Are bladder or prolapse problems just part of ageing?
No — while common, these issues are not something you have to “put up with.” Effective treatments and support are available at any age.
What treatments are available?
Treatment depends on your symptoms and may include lifestyle advice, pelvic floor therapy, medications, or minor procedures — all tailored to your needs. Contact Dr Craven now for further information.
Is this something I should feel embarrassed about?
Absolutely not. These symptoms are more common than many women realise, and you’ll be listened to with care, dignity, and respect.
